Ramsey gives date for Constitutional officer interviews

Lieutenant Governor gives some detail on when and where applicants for key state positions will be heard

Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey said today that applicants for the positions of State Treasurer, State Comptroller, and Secretary of State will be interviewed by select members of the Republican House and Senate caucuses on December 15th, 1 p.m., in the Legislative Plaza of the State Capitol.

Ramsey said that he was pleased with the overall response that the application process produced, but when asked said he was disappointed that there were no female candidates for any of the positions. He said that he did not recruit anyone to apply for any position and looks forward to the interview process.

When the GOP took numerical control of the Tennessee General Assembly in November, they also gained the numbers they needed to appoint the Constitutional Officers for the state. They chose to have an open application process for those interested in the jobs, for which the deadline was this past Friday.
