Another contractor sues Palmer

Developer draws second complaint over unpaid West End Summit bills

Developer Alex Palmer has been sued for a second time over his planned West End Summit.

The latest lawsuit comes courtesy of South Carolina-based Metromont Corp., which is seeking more than $380,000 for architectural and structural building work it has done for the proposed $200 million office, hotel, condominium and retail development. A copy of the filing is available at this link.

Minnesota-based Harmon, an engineering contractor, also recently sued Palmer’s West End Summit Development LLC and his general contractor, Bovis Lend Lease, for $120,000. Metromont also names Bovis in its lawsuit.

An attempt to reach Palmer officials Thursday morning was not successful.

Greg Cashion of Smith Cashion & Orr, a law firm specializing in construction litigation, represents Harmon and Metromont.

Lawsuits such as these typically mean the general contractor hasn’t been paid, either. Bovis also is the general contractor on a government building Palmer is developing outside Nashville.
