Country singer Tanya Tucker has sold her 500 acres of farmland in Arrington for nearly $11.5 million.
Eagle Ridge Investments, which includes investors from Murfreesboro along with Ohio developer D.J. Keehan, borrowed $10 million for its transaction. The buyer plans to build a golf-course community on the land comparable to Grey Hawk Golf Club at Durham Ridge in the Village of LaGrange, Ohio. Keehan is a partner in the project there.
The property has been under contract for several months. Keehan couldn't be immediately reached for comment. This development would be one of several along State Route 840.
Tucker's sale comes within weeks of another $11.5 million sale in Williamson County. This one involved healthcare entrepreneur Preston Ingram, a founder of AIM Healthcare Services, and Scott Sohr, a private investor, selling their 207-acre tract along Hillsboro Road to an entity based in Palm Harbor, Fla.-named Remington PH Trust. According to property records, they bought the propery in 2004 for $2.3 million.
Could their sale mean a billionaire is coming to the area? The trust has been linked to billionaire Todd Wagner, who is a minority partner with Mark Cuban in the Dallas Mavericks. They sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo at the height of the Internet bubble for more than $5 billion. Wagner has been building an entertainment empire since the sale.
Tax records show three houses on the property, one built in 1926 and two in 1936. The property sits between two residential subdivisions, and perhaps the 207 acres will meet the same fate.
