Former Metro Law Director and current candidate for mayor Karl Dean has donated $50,000 to his own campaign. Dean's donation to himself brings his campaign fundraising total to $156,450.

According to documents filed with the Davidson County Election Commission, Dean has $151,448 on hand. Last week, Councilman-at-large Buck Dozier reported that he had raised $102,734 in the last quarter and has $228,000 on hand.

All candidates for Metro offices who filed notice before January 15 that they were seeking office have until Wednesday to file fundraising reports with the Davidson County Election Commission.

The election is set for August 2nd.
