One of the larger soft drink accounts here, Vanderbilt University, is in the process of dumping Pepsi for Coke.
Previously, all soft drinks sold at Vanderbilt events were supplied by Pepsi, which exclusively serviced the university concession stands.
Under a new contract, which could be signed within the next two weeks, Coca-Cola could get “the overall sponsorship of the Vanderbilt athletic department,” Owen Shull, assistant athletic director for marketing at Vanderbilt told NashvillePost.com Tuesday.
"Everything has been worked out with the exception of the official signing," said Guy Morgan, youth marketing manager with the Tennessee division of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated.
Morgan said the contract could be finalized this week, but declined to comment on details.
