COMDATA SELLS TRUCKING MAGAZINE
Comdata has sold one of its more unusual products to the Nashville entrepreneur from which it bought it seven years ago.
The Brentwood division of Ceridian Corp. announced this morning that it had sold Superdriver magazine to its founder Jim Stein.
Superdriver is a magazine for truck drivers that comes out on audio cassette. When Stein originally founded it in 1989, Superdriver was mainly sold in truck stops. But in recent years, the magazine has had more success as a tailor-made product for large trucking fleets such as J.B. Hunt, Federal Express and UPS.
Specific financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Comdata is one of the largest providers of services to the trucking industry in the United States. Among is base products is a monetary system called Comcheck that is used by thousands of truck drivers.
Stein will lease the current SuperDriver recording facilities and offices inside Comdata's headquarters in Maryland Farms.
