Email marketing company Emma last Friday successfully moved 85 people from Eighth Avenue South to about 25,000 square feet at two of the buildings in Rolling Mill Hill's Trolley Barns development. Following a long day of unpacking, Emma staffers, friends and families breaking in the new digs — which feature a bistro area and lots of wooden beams and exposed bricks — kicked back a bit to the sounds of Nashville-based New Orleans style brass band Half Brass. Band members Kevin Rimmer (trumpet), Chris West (saxophone), Oscar Utterstrom (trombone), Justin Amaral (percussion) and Neil Konouchi (tuba) paraded through the courtyard for a surprise show.
The Trolley Barns are being redeveloped by a partnership led by Mathews Company. In addition to Emma, its new tenants will include the Center for Nonprofit Management, Hands on Nashville, the Entrepreneur Center and others.
