The owners of Bartaco have landed a permit to build out their future space in the 12 South Center building, according to Metro Codes Department documents.
Nashville-based Story Construction Co. will handle the work, with the permit valued at $500,000.
Developed by Paul McRedmond,12 South Center is nearing construction completion and is located at 2526 in the district from which its name is derived.
Bartaco (read more here) is a casual street food concept from a restaurant group based in Connecticut.
Nashville-based chef Jeremy Barlow is planning to open The Meet Room, a community taproom to operate from the space next door to his Sloco in 12South. The effort follows Barlow's recently opening a second outpost of Sloco in the Nashville Farmers' Market. Read more here.
Corner Pub Nashville has received a permit for the build-out of its soon-to-open Brentwood location at 710 Old Hickory Blvd. Hillsboro Builders LLC has the $271,023 contract for the job. Corner Pub has locations in Bellevue, Franklin, Midtown and Mount Juliet. The original Corner Pub, which operates under different ownership, is located in Green Hills.
Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies — the Colorado-based beverage business known for its island-grown coffee beans and surf culture themes — has opened a location in Mt. Juliet.
It is the first Maui Wowi Hawaiian in Tennessee.
Jeanne and Jim Morrissey are the owners of the franchise, which is located in the Grave’s Crossing Shopping Center.
The Mt. Juliet location is the latest Maui Wowi store to feature green building materials. Many of the company’s locales offer carpets made from recycled airplane and truck tires and countertop siding made of Kirei board, which is considered rapidly renewable.
“The design efforts are strongly focused on using elements that are sustainable while creating an inviting atmosphere for customers to enjoy,” Eric Richardson, senior project manager at Maui Wowi Hawaiian, said in a release.
