Local health and wellness management company Onlife Health has named John Kellar director of enterprise solutions. In his new role, Kellar will oversee software development project and will lead the development of Onlife's Ignite product line.
Kellar joins the BlueCross BlueShield subsidiary from web consulting company appendTo, where he served as CEO and COO. He also previously served at Onlife as senior enterprise architect.
"We are delighted to welcome John back to our team," Danny Timblin, Onlife president and CEO, said in a release. "Already he has played a vital role in developing our Ignite product, and we look forward to having him on board to further advance all of our product lines aimed at creating healthy lifestyles for our clients."
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee's wellness company Onlife Health has announced a partnership with with Durham, North Carolina-based Validic, a health care tech platform, to integrate data from popular health devices and applications.
Through the partnership, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, Onlife's existing wellness program will have access to health and fitness data from popular devices, like the FitBit and Jawbone, and apps like Nike and Runkeeper. Members can sync their devices with the Onlife Health's wellness portal to track activity alongside the company's health coaching.
"While an increasing number of people are using wearable devices to enhance their health, having the freedom to choose which one they use makes all the difference when it comes to achieving positive health outcomes," said Onlife Health's president and CEO, Danny Timblin, who was named to those roles in May. "We're excited to partner with Validic to offer this enhanced level of connectivity and flexibility for our customers," he said.
