Milt Capps has checked in with Chris Hefley, a former developer at HCA and other health care IT companies who two years ago started Bandit Software to market software that helps companies implementing lean processes better manage their workflow and spot potential problems. Hefley, who has been raising money from friends and family and has recruited blue chips such as Boeing and GSK, sees Bandit/LeanKit growing to $2.5 million in 2012.
Proceeds from current fund-raising are aimed at accelerating growth in current sectors and could support developing an "on-premises" enterprise version of LeanKit for customers who demand that; and, fresh capital will set the stage for LeanKit to enter new verticals and target new products. Future target markets include construction, healthcare, sales and marketing, video production and education, he said.
