Franklin-based Southern Land Co. has joined Churchill Mortgage to form a preferred lender partnership to serve its area developments.

Southern Land is known for its traditional neighborhood development Westhaven in Williamson County. The company recently broke ground on Elliston 23, a mixed-use apartment project in the West End corridor near Vanderbilt University. Elliston 23 is the company’s first urban development, with Southern Land’s design division handling architecture work.

Interestingly, financial guru Dave Ramsey exclusively endorses the Brentwood-based Churchill Mortgage. 

Williamson County-based Dan Kraus, a home loan specialist with Churchill, will spearhead the effort. He will operate out of Westhaven’s realty office.

Westhaven is located just outside of downtown Franklin on Highway 96 West. There are some 1,000 homes in the community, with more than 20 commercial and retail tenants, a private golf course and an elementary school. The development is similar in various ways to some of the TNDs Miami-based design firm Duany Plater-Zyberk and Company has created and made nationally well known.

In addition to Westhaven, Southern Land communities in Williamson County include LaurelBrooke and Windstone.
