West End restaurant sites land new tenants

Eater's Matt Rogers was out and about the other day and has passed on two notable bites of West End restaurant news. First up is word that the 25th Avenue North space formerly home to Sardinia Enoteca will soon reopen as a location of the Texas de Brazil chain. The company has its roots in Texas in the late 1990s and now runs eateries from the Carribean to New York and Nevada. A few blocks west, the former Viener Fest restaurant building has reopened as Bier Fest. Rogers reports that not that much has changed beyond the fact that the menu now features a lot more bacon.

Sardinia to close its doors

After less than a year in business on 25th Avenue North, the folks behind Sardinia Enoteca are pulling the plug after serving dinner tonight. The upscale eatery's Miami forerunner is in better shape, they say, and deserves their full attention. Two summers ago, Tony Gallo and Pietro Vardeu signed up for 7,000 square feet in the Park View Towers building and said it was just the right time for them to jump into the hot Nashville dining scene.
