The clinical documentation specialists at M*Modal have signed two agreements expanding their reach into the hospital space. What appears to be the bigger of the two is a reseller partnership with Optum, the population health management division of UnitedHealth Group that has a large Cool Springs presence after acquiring AIM Healthcare. The companies' deal aims to help hospitals better prepare for the transition to the ICD-10 coding standard that will be adopted next year.
The second new agreement for Franklin-based M*Modal comes in the form of a strategic alliance with national hospital management consulting firm The Claro Group. Also taking aim at ICD-10 as well as other quality measures, the partnership will let Claro executives bring M*Modal's software into their clients' operations.
