Accounting firm Frazier & Deeter has expanded its Women Leadership Initiative to Nashville. The program, which also is active in Atlanta and Tampa, includes a blog as well as some events and will look to back other events aimed at helping female entrepreneurs and executives. Partner Debbie Willett, pictured here, is taking the local lead.
Accounting and advisory firm Frazier & Deeter has signed on as a sponsor of the Entrepreneur Center, joining a couple of dozen other prominent corporate and individual names. The firm has in recent years expanded its involvement in the early-stage ecosystem in part by launching deal monitoring service FD Venture Farm.
FD Venture Farm, the venture launched earlier this year by accounting firm Frazier & Deeter to track financial metrics at start-up companies, has allied with the Angel Capital Association to market itself to the latter's members. ACA investors will get broad access to the FD Venture team's metrics, interviews and reports on the companies in which they have invested or might invest.
“FD Venture Farm is a unique business monitoring platform that will both facilitate the monitoring of ACA member portfolio companies and intelligently expose interesting companies from across the country to our ACA members,” said Marianne Hudson, Executive Director of ACA. “Through FD Venture Farm, ACA members will be able to leverage an independent source of information and allow them to access opportunities beyond their geographic footprint.”
From Frazier & Deeter, the regional CPA firm that last year acquired Work & Greer, comes an interesting concept that could find a place in the buzzing Music City entrepreneurial scene. The firm has launched FD Venture Farm, a monitoring service that will track a number of financial metrics of (mostly young) companies looking for growth capital and help them prepare for institutional investment. “Our investment criteria are such that we often must pass on companies with interesting and exciting businesses but have not yet reached the milestones necessary for us to move forward,” said Frank X. Dalton, Partner of Atlanta-based Fulcrum Equity Partners. “Assisting companies to be investment ready is a valued service. If they can successfully address a few issues, the chances of getting funded can be greatly enhanced. The FD Venture Farm service will help us keep in touch with these companies as they gain traction and become more suited to our investment profile.”
