Jeremy Kane is running for mayor, shocking no one.
Here's the video. And from the inbox:
Jeremy Kane, Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of LEAD Public Schools, today announced that Pam Martin, President of Cushion Employer Services and a longtime civic leader, will serve as treasurer for his campaign for mayor of Nashville.
Martin, who served as co-chair of Mayor Karl Dean's 2007 campaign for mayor, as well as a member of his initial transition team, brings deep business and community ties to Kane's campaign for mayor of Nashville.
"No one lives the values of passion, persistence, and partnerships better in our city than Pam Martin," Kane said. "Pam believes in Nashville at its best, and has demonstrated her leadership throughout our community time and again. I'm honored to work with her in this campaign for our city's future.”
Martin has chaired the Mayor's Minority Business Advisory Council and is a former chair of the Metropolitan Tourism Commission. She was vice president for community development at SunTrust Bank, and was appointed by Gov. Bill Haslam to serve on the Tennessee Ethics Commission. She currently serves on the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
Martin said Kane's success as an educator and community partner attracted her to his campaign.
"Jeremy Kane has what our community needs," she said. "He has proven he knows how to bring people together to solve problems, educate kids, and build successful partnerships. That's the definition of the job description for mayor, and no one fills it better than Jeremy. I look forward to helping him become mayor."
Kane launched his campaign for mayor by filing candidacy papers at the Metropolitan Election Commission with his wife, Tracy, and daughter, Wells.
