Craft brewers take aim at state's beer cap

Via Pith, Linus Hall and the Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild are looking to change the way the state classifies so-called "high-gravity" beers. Tennessee has the lowest definition — 6.3 percent by volume, or ABV — in the South.

"If you want your local brewers to spread their creative wings and brew a wider range of beers, we need to change this," Hall wrote. "Many of your favorite out-of-state brewers don’t send much of their high-gravity beers to Tennessee due to the limited number of places they can be sold."
