Well, it does address one common complaint with the other Don’t Say Gay bills. Opponents have been worried in the past that the bill would mean that students who were being bullied or thinking of committing suicide over their sexuality wouldn’t be able to confide in teachers and counselors. This bill allows counselors and such to talk to students about these issues. However, unless public health or safety is threatened, the current bill would require counselors to report the conversations back to the parent or guardian.
