Forrest and the trees

There's a debate in Memphis on keeping Nathan Bedford Forrest's name on a city park. One council member had this to say:

"We've got bigger things to worry about in this city than a dead man's park," said Collins.

In that case, renaming the Memphis city park should be an easy fix...

If you give up the name of the Nathan Bedford Forrest city park in Memphis, you might as well want to give up drinking Maxwell House Coffee (the long popular coffee product supposedly named after the former Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville), and aside from whether or not U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt endorsed this coffee while visiting the Maxwell House Hotel, Nathan Bedford Forrest decades earlier (circa 1867) had met with others during an meeting at the Maxwell House Hotel to organize the original, pre-1915 "Birth of a Nation" non-white sheet wearing and non-cross burning Klu Klux Klan organization...

This Memphis city park could certainly be named after a less controversial person...
