Gee, if only there was some sort of group responsible for identifying and helping elect credible candidates for office
The TNDP disavows Democratic Party Senate nominee Mark Clayton:
The Tennessee Democratic Party released the following statement in response to Mark Clayton receiving the most votes in the Democratic Primary for US Senate.
"The only time that Clayton has voted in a Democratic primary was when he was voting for himself. Many Democrats in Tennessee knew nothing about any of the candidates in the race, so they voted for the person at the top of the ticket. Unfortunately, none of the other Democratic candidates were able to run the race needed to gain statewide visibility or support.
“Mark Clayton is associated with a known hate group in Washington, D.C., and the Tennessee Democratic Party disavows his candidacy, will not do anything to promote or support him in any way, and urges Democrats to write-in a candidate of their choice in November.”

I am waiting to find out
I am waiting to find out exactly how his group is a "hate" group. Their social views are very much different from most Democrats. They seem to be extreme. But I have not seen that they are a hate group other than the southern Poverty Law Center saying that but not really explaining why. At this point, the Democratic Party has disavowed his candidacy. I think they should just leave it alone after that, suck it up, and do a better job of recruiting in the future, and concentrate on other races..
The Southern Poverty Law
The Southern Poverty Law Center is the Hate Group here.
Mickey, But they only hate
Mickey,
But they only hate conservatives so it is ok. Except when they need to find a new enemy to bolster their fundraising. Then no one is safe except communists, socialists, left-wing academics and anyone who will contribute to the SPLC.
A rather short sighted
A rather short sighted prejudicial accusation with neither base nor merit. Pandering to the mindless members of the right, while it may serve you in votes, does little for the cause of Democracy and is beneath anyone with your apparent sense of intelligence, unless I give you too much credit!
Captain, The SPLC is the
Captain,
The SPLC is the ultimate 'hate group' exactly because it sets out to identify its politcal opponents as practicing and spreading 'hate' and 'racism' and 'violence' as the SPLC defines them. It is the most cynical form of circular logic.
Do you think that Tennessee Right to Life is the sole arbitrer of who is or isn't pro-life? I don't and few Republicans I know think they are either. The same is true of the NRA and the TFA {what can you say about people who think the NRA is soft on gun rights} presenting themselves as the deciders on gun issues.
Does the SPLC consider al Qaeda or the Kurdish Pride or M-19 to be 'hate groups?' How about the New Black Panthers?
And why in the name of John C. Calhoun does it still call itself 'Southern?' As if there are not hate groups everwhere. But what would happen if the PLC {I want the 'S' gone} were to go after the Meyer Kahane followers or the Communist Party USA or the IRA or other group that at least funds terrorism?
You nailed it.
You nailed it.
