Was there ice cream?

Scottie Mayfield had a reception (fundraiser?) in East Ridge's city hall. Folks are mad.

And apparently he's got an attack ad out. Fleischmann responds:

After promising to run a positive campaign, Scottie Mayfield has released a false TV ad attacking Congressman Chuck Fleischmann's voting record. This also comes after he falsely claimed – two separate times – his opponents would attack him. Mr. Mayfield has also stated that negative ads have no place in the Republican primary, and only help the Obama-Pelosi liberals. He has also praised Congressman Fleischmann's voting record multiple times, but now he attacks it?

"The idea that Chuck has voted with President Obama is absurd. He has been a staunch opponent of President Obama since taking office in 2010. In fact, another opponent in this race has attacked him for being too harsh on President Obama. This is what happens when a desperate campaign sees the race starting to slip away. When you don't debate, when you can't tell folks why you are running, and when you defend your son's illegal actions, this is the type of campaign you have to resort to," Jordan Powell, senior advisor to the Fleischmann campaign, said.
