That sort of distills it down

Is the question of Debra Maggart's chops on gun rights as simple as whether conservatives should care more about property rights or the Second Amendment?

Matthew Hurtt:

At odds here (and I’ve explained it before through other outlets) is the value of property rights over gun rights. The NRA and TFA’s sole disagreement with Maggart is that she didn’t support what they called the “Safe Commute” Act, but what I call the “Disregard for Private Property Rights” Act.

If passed, the bill would force property owners to allow gun owners to possess (in their vehicles) firearms on their property. I fundamentally and philosophically disagree with this position.

Private property rights are paramount.

I take issue that Maggart is

I take issue that Maggart is a conservative. She isn't, she is an establishment centrist and is part of the problem and needs to go. She doesn't really stand for anything, and she isn't that knowledgeable about policy (if you ever try having a conversation with her you'll realize that), but more importantly she is a tool of the Republican establishment in Tennessee, specifically Haslam, Diane Black, Ron Ramsey, and Beth Harwell - she does their bidding, no questions asked. And it is for THAT reason she should be unelected.

That being said, I too also disagree with the TFA on the parking lot bill. I can see their points and I think they may have a valid argument, but like Mickey, I too think that it's a matter of private property rights trumping.

I wish the TFA had made this over an issue that wasn't as divisive amongst people who have honest disagreements on the subject. Constitutional carry on the other hand would be an issue I would be behind 110%

I agree with Matt, what is

I agree with Matt, what is the difference.  First they tell Businesses owners what they can have on their property, then it will be You and your personal property.  STOP BIG GOVERNMENT !  Agenda 21 is the Same Thing.
