The Metro Council voted 32-8 Tuesday night for what was, more or less, the mayor's budget:

The council voted 32-8 to approve a Councilman Sean McGuire-sponsored $1.71 billion substitute budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year that includes the primary pieces the mayor laid out in his original budget in May, including a 53-cent increase on the city’s $4.13 property tax rate. The council also signed off on a bond resolution authorizing a robust $297.7 million capital-spending plan, one of Metro’s largest in years.

And Nashville will be the worse for them.  People tempeted to take your advice and support recalling the council members who voted for the property tax increase should remember that you and your merry band of libertarians need to realize that you are an opponent of government and a recall will only serve to weaken our governmental process.
