Chippin' out

Chip Forrester says he won't seek another term as the TNDP chairman:

Forrester said he started thinking about the decision last summer and was ready to yield to new, younger leadership.

“It’s been a great four years, but it’s time,” he said.

During Forrester's tenure, Democrats have lost the governor's office, three congressional seats and a host of state legislative seats. The state party's struggles culminated on Aug. 2 with the embarrassing nomination of Mark Clayton to run for U.S. Senate against incumbent Bob Corker.
