The National Journal says Bob Corker is among the 11 most vulnerable U.S. Senate incumbents in 2012. Read more here.
Oh George Flinn!!!! I know about the manequins!
Funny that our freedom is being stolen a little more each day? Funny that the gop and the teabaggers, who claim to support freedom are just as guilty as the democrats for destroying it? Or is it Funny that Matt, one of the few people in the state who believes in freedom, has no chance. I'm not laughing, but I'm wondering what kind of person would be.
Are you to stupid to realize that Corker and Alexander's voting records are all public?
Also, how did you just become a Patriot 2 years ago? Maybe you should get an education before you develop diarrhea of the mouth and say something stupid.
If the Tea Party tries and does take Corker down. They will kicking themselves after a Democrat takes the seat. Radicals are not going to win statewide in TN.
Bob Corker said he voted for Eric Holder Attorney General at the presidents request. He doesn't seem to understand he's there to represent us instead of the president.
And when Lamar Alexander says they investigated Barack Obama and found him legally eligible for the office of President but couldn't tell where they got that information means he should go also. Two terms is enough.
Sen. Corker is very likely to fend off primary and general election contenders quite handily, in spite of some vocal dissatisfaction on both sides with his voting record and positions.
This is not an endorsement; it is merely an observation.
Caveat: in the very unlikely event that the Democrats are able to recruit Phil Bredesen to run against him, an early poll indicates that there would be a real race. I would still expect Corker to come out the winner, unless some other factors change.
Great point Yogi!
His voting record is pushing him further and further away from his conservative voters. He told us one thing during his campaigning and once elected began voting just the opposite. We use to have short memories about their voting records but not anymore. Not in this information age where we as tea party members can help one another remember just how much he actually ISN'T representing us. Bredesen? represented us even less...... Looking for a new consevative to step up to the plate. Do we have a Marco Rubio here in TN waiting in the wings?
Wayne, you were doing well until your last two sentence. Marco Rubio is NOT a conservative, he has rejected the Tea Party and even brought the "cap and trade" scheme to FL. You should also look at the rest of his voting record in the FL legislature, and then research the connection between Rubio, the Aspen Institute, and George Soros. After doing that you'll probably not think so highly of Rubio.
Matt, Rubio did not "reject" the Tea Party. Get over yourself. He gave a good response to critics that were trying to attack him over that.
Just because he does not caucus with Rand Paul does not mean he is not a conservative.
In congress can anyone tell me the difference between republicans and democrats other than names only?
Why aren't they in office to represent the people instead of a particular political party?
Hell, I guess I just don't understand politics. I see them as party politicians in name only.
Love reading these democrats attempting to talk
as if they are with the "right" on getting rid of
Corker. While disagreeing with many of his
votes he still smarter, and more likely to win
any race over a democratic opponent or primary
opponent unless it's a truly great one with
many personal dollars!
Come on, we all this are just political ploy to gain more followers because people always tend to believe those oppressed politicians before the wealthy and all might ones.
If his voting record is communicated to likely Republican voters, then yes he is very vulnerable.
Depends. If Philly B is not running, then all he has to do is get through a primary.
Bob only has to worry about a primary.
He would win the general, even against Bredesen.
The GOP voters love their incumbents.
He's got to go. He voted for bailout. He voted for patriot act. He voted for food modernization act. He's big war, big government and loves big agencies. He's got to GO!
Bailout Bob has got to go. He is the worst person in the senate. Well Lamar is about the same. They are all crooks.
Let's see if the TN Tea Parties in other cities have guts. The "official" Memphis Tea Party gives a pass to plenty of establishmentarians and Neo Cons like Bailout Bob. My parents are both Democrats and voted for Marsha Blackburn only because she voted against the bailout. He's definitely no shoo-in...
I fear Tennesseans are fascinated with fool's gold. Bill Haslam is the beneficiary of ill-gotten gain, dealing in lottery, alcohol, and bad magazines at his gas stations, to say nothing of collaborating with environmentalism and other no-goods. I was thinking of the old Tenn. hillbilly song that he needs to hear: "I'd rather be in a deep, dark cave and know that my poor soul was saved, than to live my life in a house of gold, and deny my God and lose my soul."
Fayette Tea Party is ready to show both Corker and Alexander the door. And, we WILL get their voting records out. You can add to their baggage list that they refuse to 'sign their names' to oppose the UN Rights of the Child Treaty if it comes for a vote after thousands of pleas from TN parents over the past two years.
You mean Tarp, Cash for Clunkers, Food modernization safty, START in the lame duck session, rescue Chris Dodd's dead financial reform bill, BailoutBob.
But gosh, Bob belongs to the Ben Bernanki fan club. Ben can add as many zeros as he chooses to any bank account in the world. Why wouldn't Bob love him.
Wouldn't a conservative Senator from Tennessee be refreshing.
Darla is right on! And Shelby Co. has patriots besides the RINO-fan clubs. We want to jettison Bailout Bob AND his neocon buddy, Lamar. Let's clean house (and senate!) in 2012!
MarcB, the Memphis Tea party are Neocons, the MidSouth Tea party, not so much.
MarcB, tell your parents that Marsha voted FOR the 1st Bail Out.
Darla, are you ready to show Marsha the door, she LOVES the UN.
Here is a list of major Unconstitutional votes Corker has made over the years. (a long read)
My patriotism, like many others, began only 2 years ago. It has been a crash course and I still bleed green over many things. I am aware of Marsha's UN happy side and her general lack of understanding about the simple message of Art. 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. But, because of the hundreds of things we've worked to address these past 2 years that are wrong, I personally haven't hit Marsha as hard as I have Alexander and Corker with correspondence to test her willingness to learn and practice what she ought to already know(like the rest of us). I am paying closer attention to her now however and I appreciate the records you pass along.
If Haslam doesn't get his administration in high gear and accomplish something after his "business" resume touted for 2 years, Bob Corker will pay the price.
Accept for the TN Senate and Cong. Marsha Blackburn, our state has never had such cookie-cutter leadership across the board.
Corker's vulnerable. Haslam's over his head.
Corker is in fact vulnerable, but he's not threatened by any democrats. His ousting would come from the right.
Well the 'right' ain't Marsha Blackburn. Corker's and Blackburn's voting record are very similar. They are NEOCON clones of each other
As long as you back-woods, half-wit teabaggers and republicans keep electing these hillbillies we will never be free. I wish I was optimistic as matt, but I can't be. The TP and the GOP are both totally corrupt and have to be left behind. Mickey is closer to being right, but the tabaggers are just as much an enemy of true freedom as the the republicans. They are all standing up for the UN, the Fed, The "Patriot act". wake up people. C4L
I'd like to see the votes National Journal used as a basis. He's only vulnerable if credibly challenged, so who's getting ready? That's what I thought...
Do any of Ron Paul's other kids live in Tennessee?
Bart Gordon or Jim Kyle for US Senate.
Though wouldn't Bredesen be a dream?

Plenty of these posts claim that Corker is vulnerable from the right. But who is the right wing candidate that is going to challenge him? It will takes millions of dollars to unseat Corker. Where is that money going to come from?
I’d like to say that you always offer valid information and I have been an fascinated reader of your site for
quite some time. I wanted to say thankyou really :) for all the good work you do!
Thank you, your achievement is really a lot an inspiration for me.
Don't you love that Matt Collins? He would blow up the Republican Party just to let Reid an Pelosi be in charge for ever.
Find a better candidate in the PRIMARY IF YOU CAN, BUT PlEASE DON'T SO DAMAGE HIM THAT WE GET THOSE TERRIBLE TWINS BACK.
Who knew the John Birch Society would come to rule Tennessee Republican politics?
The John Birch Society encourages candidates that abide by the Constitution. They do not support a constitutional convention, they do support an audit of the Federal Reserve, which Corker opposes. They also support eliminating the Federal Reserve. The JBS does not support any bail outs, even the ones the Republicans supported. Did you know that the leader of the JBS was a Democratic Congressman in 1980, before he was murdered by the USSR?
"Plenty of these posts claim that Corker is vulnerable from the right. But who is the right wing candidate that is going to challenge him? It will takes millions of dollars to unseat Corker. Where is that money going to come from?"
I nominate doctor, businessman, and RAPPER... George Flinn!
Brad Greer can manage the campaign, too.
In all seriousness, the man has $30M to burn and he does have name ID in Memphis and Nashville. He's also the only one with nothing to lose politically (Blackburn, Wamp and others all do). Would it be a credible challenge? Eh, maybe not. Might give the crazy guy a 15% shot. But his money instantly makes him more competitive than any unknown that might step up.
And at least Flinn lives in the district this time.
It is a sad day for Tennessee taxpayers. Both of our U.S. Senators (Alexander and Frist) and our U.S. Representative (Blackburn) voted to increase the public debt limit. As of 11/16/2004, our national debt stands at: $7,443,803,095,560.07, Shame, Shame, Shame on our Physically Conservative Congress Critters.
Blast from the past!
Congressman Marsha Blackburn came to Oakland, Saturday 04/09/05, for a town-hall visit. I went to see her for three reasons: So that I could hear her speak, the questions and answers at the end, and to hand out the latest report card of her performance.
Her speech was typical, short on specifics and long on generalities. She spoke about her visit to Iraq, Tort reform, a Balance Budget Amendment, reduction in non-defense non-homeland security spending, social security, and how she is on the committee on government reform that is looking at waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.
She apparently takes her Fayette County constitutes as fools. Congress does not need a balance budget amendment; they just need to balance the budget. This could be done without an amendment, but they cannot do it because they are spend-aholics; all they have to do is raise taxes to balance the budget. She voted this year to increase the debt limit to $8.18 TRILLION. And talking about waste, Marsha Blackburn has voted for just about every Omnibus Appropriations bill that has been put through Congress on her watch. The latest spending bill, with a cost of $388.4 BILLION, contains $121,250 for renovations at a Philadelphia ballet school. She voted for that, which does not sound as if she is trying to control waste to me.
The question and answer period was too short. Someone asked her if she would cosponsor the bill that would withdraw the U.S. form the UN (with at least half of the citizens attending applauding this request) and she said a most definite “NO”.
I handed the report card of her voting record to all in attendance. Her score was poor, to say the least. It was only 2 stars out of 8 (25% out of 100).
I feel somewhat disappointed. You of all people should support the concept of having amending and runaway conventions provided for in the Constitution. I mean, how else would the current document be in place?
God blessed us then, will he now?
George Flinn was a piece of garbage in his last primary.
I'd be solidly behind Corker even more if George Flinn was his opponent.
Flinn should just become a full time rapper. He'd fit right in with that trash.
why doesn't matt run?
