Are you really positing that Governor Bredesen would leave the state in the hands of an incompetent Republican because the State Dem Exec Committee voted for someone other than the person he endorsed? Do you really think that low of Bredesen?

You can't read, can you? I said he'd screw the state, because Ramsey is incompetent, but that the Democratic party might benefit from Ramsey's incompetence. The state, and the party, are two different things. I'd rather the party have a harder hill to climb in 2010 than see Ramsey screw up the state.

He wouldn't be leaving us high and dry, he'd be leaving the state high and dry. There is good reason to argue that, politically, it would be better for the Dems chances in 2010 if Bredesen were to leave and allow the Republicans to run the state for a couple of years.
