Sean Braisted reacts to Tennessee automobile passengers' loss of the ability to legally drink while being driven around by friends:
Now, I'm pretty damned liberal when it comes to alcohol laws...but come on, when I tell people from other states that you can drink while being driven they are typically amazed at the prospect. In fact, the few times I've had the opportunity to partake in this law, I was nervous as hell drinking while in the car because I've been conditioned to think its wrong.
This isn't a huge loss to liberty, its a minor annoyance...yeah, maybe it wasn't necessary, but if it means we get $12 million in federal funds*? I say we take the hit and people can risk the whopping $50 fine if they get caugh.

Your generations is more willing than mine to tolerate loss of liberty, perhaps because so much liberty has been taken away in recent decades by the square and geezer fascists, before you started paying attention.
