INK Building to see $2M in additions

The owners of The INK Building have landed a permit to add two floors to the SoBro-based structure.

FLO {thinkery] founder Mark Montgomery is leading a group that includes FLO equity advisors Joe Glaser and John Grady to retrofit the former printing building located at 613 Ewing St. one block south of Lafayette Street.

The permit follows Frothy Monkey Coffee Roasting Co.’s late-July announcement that it will partner with St. Louis-based Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Co., to take INK Building space that will feature full-service wholesale coffee support for restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and gift shops serving the Nashville area.

Nashville-based Wellspring Builders Inc. will do the work, with the permit valued at $2 million. Manuel Zeitlin Architects, which is also locally based, is handling design of The INK Building, with the modernist structure being retrofitted with updates and additions.
