Broadcast Music Inc. has promoted Mason Hunter to executive director, strategic partnerships/business development.
Hunter (pictured) will identify new partners; create new revenue streams to benefit the organization’s affiliates; and maximize existing partnerships for mutual brand awareness.
A 14-year veteran of BMI, Hunter will now report to Jody Williams, BMI vice president, writer/publisher relations, and is based in the company’s Nashville office.
“I am delighted to welcome Mason to our organization’s Writer/Publisher team and to utilize his keen partnership perspective to serve BMI’s affiliates,” Williams said in a release. “He will play a vital role in building on our success to create unique opportunities that grow BMI’s value in the music business community.”
Hunter most recently served as BMI executive director, chain and specialty market sales. During his tenure at BMI, he has held several positions, including senior director, in both media and general licensing, where he worked with key accounts and trade associations in the media and hospitality industry.
A certified public accountant, Hunter started his career in audit services at Deloitte before joining BMI in the audit and finance department. He holds a B.S. in management and accounting from Lipscomb University, from which he graduated cum laude.
