New Geography used U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data for the ranking and focused on each region's growth both recently and over time.
The San Jose, California, metropolitan area was ranked the top large city for job growth.
Nashville’s Southern peer cities Austin, Texas, and Raleigh, North Carolina, ranked third and fourth respectively. Charlotte, North Carolina, another peer city, ranked 14th.
