Healthcare Realty Trust buys medical office for $6.5M

Healthcare Realty Trust has purchased a 39,000-square-foot medical office building in Greensboro, North Carolina for $6.5 million, reports the Nashville Business Journal.

The Nashville-based investment trust bought the Wesley Long Professional Building from Flagship 510-North Elam, a subsidiary of Charlotte-based Brackett Flagship Properties.

It's a further expansion within North Carolina for the publicly traded real estate investment trust that already has a portfolio of properties occupied by Carolinas HealthCare System providers in the Charlotte metro market.

Shares of Healthcare Realty Trust (Ticker: HR) were up 18 cents to $25.14 on Thursday. They're up nearly 18 percent so far this year.
