Meharry, Henry Schein to open dental clinic

Henry Schein Inc., a medical, dental and animal health supplies provider, has announced a partnership with Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry to jointly open a graduate dental residency clinic.

Through the partnership, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, dental students at the Henry Schein Cares Graduate Programs Residency Clinic will provide dental care to underserved patients in Nashville.

"Meharry's partnership with Henry Schein and the unveiling of the Henry Schein Cares Graduate Programs Residency Clinic furthers our ability to provide our students with an invaluable, hands-on training experience using the latest technology, while at the same time, providing an opportunity for students to give back to our community," said Dr. Cherae Farmer Dixon, dean and professor of the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry.

Based in Melville, N.Y., Henry Schein is a global provider of health care products and services. The company's social responsibility program, Henry Schein Cares, is supporting the Meharry clinic, which will feature digital dental equipment and imaging.
