Nashville-based Optimal Radiology Partners announced today it will provide radiology services to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.
Under the agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed in a release, Optimal will deliver on-site physician coverage and management support to Sentara's medical center in Woodbridge, Va., as well as Sentara Lake Ridge, an outpatient campus and emergency department. Sentara will also have 24/7 access to specialized radiologists through Optimal's teleradiology network.
The partnership comes on the heels of Optimal's naming of sector veteran Joe McDonough as its chief executive officer in October.
“As a high performing organization, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center recognizes the impact a strong radiology department can have on the quality of its outcomes, the satisfaction of its patients and referring physicians, and the overall efficiency of its operations,” Dr. Chad Calendine, Optimal chief medical officer, said in a release.
Steve Porter, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center president, said the partnership with Optimal "will help us raise our game.”
“The hospital, the Lake Ridge ED and our imaging centers generate digital images around the clock," Porter said. "Having 24-hour access to highly skilled radiologists on a digital platform will ensure timely readings and the most efficient care we can provide our patients.”
With more than 100 radiologists, Optimal Radiology Partners provides radiology staffing and management services to national and regional health systems.
