Smartvue raises $1.75M

Nashville-based wireless video surveillance systems company Smartvue Corp.,  has raised $1.75 million in new funding, according to company founder Martin Renkis.

Four investors contributed to the raise, including Nashville resident and economist Art Laffer, who is one of three directors listed on the SEC filing.

Eventually, the company plans to raise $3 million in new funding, Renkis (pictured) said.

The funding will be used mainly to add engineering and sales staff. Relatedly, Smartvue is moving from Belle Meade into an office building located near the Haywood Lane and Interstate 24 interchange. The move is slated to take place Feb. 1.

“This funding supports our next step in building the world’s largest cloud surveillance network as we continue our exponential growth," Renkis said.
