Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies — the Colorado-based beverage business known for its island-grown coffee beans and surf culture themes — has opened a location in Mt. Juliet.
It is the first Maui Wowi Hawaiian in Tennessee.
Jeanne and Jim Morrissey are the owners of the franchise, which is located in the Grave’s Crossing Shopping Center.
The Mt. Juliet location is the latest Maui Wowi store to feature green building materials. Many of the company’s locales offer carpets made from recycled airplane and truck tires and countertop siding made of Kirei board, which is considered rapidly renewable.
“The design efforts are strongly focused on using elements that are sustainable while creating an inviting atmosphere for customers to enjoy,” Eric Richardson, senior project manager at Maui Wowi Hawaiian, said in a release.
