LocalShares, Inc., announced today it has named Michael Schulz as director of marketing.
Prior to joining LocalShares (the investment adviser of the recently launched Nashville Area ETF), Schulz worked 10-plus years in the Washington D.C. office of U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, where he most recently served as field director managing 33 middle Tennessee counties. Previously, Schulz (pictured) was Alexander’s assistant press secretary and a legislative correspondent. He is the son of Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ralph Schulz.
“Michael has a deep understanding of the middle Tennessee community and is uniquely qualified for this important role at LocalShares,” Elizabeth S. Courtney, a company co-founder, said in a release. “[His] extensive community relations and economic development experience are an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to his stewardship in directing the marketing initiatives of LocalShares as we share information about this product throughout the region.”
The Nashville Area ETF is the nation’s first city-specific exchange-traded fund and began trading (NYSE: NASH) on Aug. 1, 2013. Read more here.
