Joseph Mazzo has been named the chief operating officer for River Park Hospital in McMinnville, one of five Tennessee hospitals under the Capella Healthcare umbrella. The health care industry veteran, who most recently worked at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, is the first to fill the COO position at the facility.
“We are very pleased that Joe is joining us,” Tim McGill, River Park CEO, said in a release. “He’s a proven leader with significant success in building strong teams that deliver great care in fast-paced environments."
At Centennial, Mazzo served as vice president of clinical operations and administrative director of critical care services since 2009. He has worked in clinical roles for the past 14 years, including leadership positions for the past eight. Prior to moving to Nashville, he worked at North Short Forest Hills Hospital in Forest Hills, N.Y., and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, N.Y.
Mazzo also has experience working in the emergency departments of UCLA Medical Center and Cedar Sinai Medical Center, both in California, as well as Winthrop University Hospital in New York and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Colorado.
