Jack Daniel’s-branded whiskey products were the driving force behind a rosy fourth-quarter earnings report posted yesterday for the Brown-Forman Corp., the whiskey manufacturer’s parent company in Louisville, Ky.
Sales nearly doubled for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, a new product line that debuted two years ago. The Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey line grew net sales by seven percent.
For the full year, Brown-Forman reported net income of $591 million, an increase of $78 million from the same time last year. The company predicted growth in the high single-digit range in the coming year.
Jack Daniel’s Distillery was founded in Lynchburg, Tenn., in 1875. The sour mash whiskey, the best selling whiskey brand in the world, is still made at a production plant in Moore County.
