The average per-gallon price of regular gas in Tennessee was $3.31 as of yesterday, an increase of 13 cents compared to the figure from the previous week, according to AAA.
In comparison, the national average price was $3.51, a 16-cent per-gallon increase. More specifically, and to compare, Georgia’s per-gallon average of $3.45 increased 13 cents.
Locally, the average per-gallon price of regular gas in Nashville was $3.31 as of yesterday, a rise of 14 cents compared to the figure from the previous week. (See chart below.)
Currently, oil prices stand at $97.77 a barrel, $1.89 more than the mark from the week prior, AAA reports.
"Motorists can expect to see gas prices increase this month,” Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman, The Auto Club Group, said in a release. "Refineries have started to prepare for maintenance season and the switch from winter to summer grade gasoline. Refinery output has already seen a reduction. In addition, positive economic news has led to an increase in oil prices which also translates to higher prices at the pump.”
