A proposal to build a 450-unit apartment complex at Nolensville Pike and Holt Road has been withdrawn by its backers after area residents said they feared the project's impact on traffic.
The Villages at Holt Road also was set to include a small gym and some retail and restaurant space. Ragan-Smith Associates had been working on the project for landowners Jack Byrd, Lunette Allen Pharr and Sara Allen. But on Wednesday, Councilman Brady Banks — who has been working alongside colleague Fabian Bedne — wrote to his constituents to say that the developers have pulled their request, which had been scheduled for a March 14 Planning Commission hearing.
"On a personal note, I want to thank all of you for participating in this process," Banks wrote. "The planning/zoning process can be a messy one for many council members and communities. I'm proud to say that my constituents and Councilmen Bedne's went through this process and participated in an open and honest way. I couldn't be happier with the way you shared your thoughts, concerns, and with the way you communicated them fairly on this matter."
