A hotel renovation — outside the city's core, no less

The past year or so has seen work begin, work completed and renovation undertaken on multiple hotels located in or within two miles of downtown Nashville.

As proof the city's hotel industry vibrancy is not limted to the central core, Nashville Airport Marriott officials announced today a $5.2 million makeover of building's lobby has been completed.

The renovation, which began at the end of November, is meant to seamlessly transform the lobby into Marriott's M.I. Greatroom concept, which “removes traditional architectural barriers and divides the lobby space into open plan zones where guests can choose to work, relax, drink or dine.”

The last element of Marriott work will be the early April opening of the hotel’s Champions restaurant.
