Healthways inks WellPoint deal

Healthways executives last week signed an agreement to offer the Ornish lifestyle management program — a product the company picked up this summer — to BlueCross and BlueShield customers of national insurer WellPoint. The three-year deal gives Healthways access to millions of customers — WellPoint works with more than 35 million people in all — in 14 states from California and Colorado to Connecticut and Maine. Shares of the Franklin-based company (Ticker: HWAY) are up almost 1 percent to $15.30 in early trading.
