One of the key folks running the show at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center has penned a comprehensive message (read here) for the VUMC Reporter about the status of the facility and its employees. Dr. Jeff Balser, vice chancellor for health affairs and dean of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, writes "across all areas of VUMC we are tackling challenging obstacles and pushing forward with cost-reduction activities." The piece focuses on "choices" VUMC officials have been required to make recently and what those choices will mean.
