TSU chemistry program maintains ACS approval
The Tennessee State University Department of Chemistry has passed a five-year review process of its curriculum program and continues to meet standards and guidelines set by the American Chemical Society, TSU officials announced Thursday.
The program, which has been ACS-approved since 2006, is one of 14 chemistry programs (out of 31) the society has approved at Tennessee-based colleges and universities.
In the United States, 668 programs are approved by ACS-CPT out of a total of 1,300.
“Re-approval is affirmation that we maintain a quality undergraduate chemistry program,” Dr. Chandra Reddy, dean of the TSU College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences, said in a release.
