Ever wonder what happens atop tall buildings when their signs have to come down?
The answer is helicopters.
Tenants of downtown's R2D2 building, also known as One Nashville Place, have been informed that the building will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 20, until 11 a.m. so that a chopper can take down the U.S. Bank sign on top. The lender has moved its Middle Tennessee headquarters to 333 Commerce St. and the sign must go, too.
All elevators will be shut down next Sunday morning and no one will be allowed to enter for safety reasons.
