Evermind grabs attention at Jumpstart Foundry open house

Nashville is fast becoming a breeding ground of sorts for boutique tech businesses looking for angel capital. And Wednesday night's Jumpstart Foundry open house proved such, featuring leaders of seven fledgling companies presenting overviews of their business models, teams, goods and services.

Of note, one of the seven, Evermind, offers a personnel roster with many members who established themselves at local tech accessory developer Griffin Technology. As about 100 attendees looked on at downtown's Entrepreneur Center, Evermind founder and CEO Dave Gilbert delivered a fascinating presentation about how his start-up (no website yet) hopes to make major headway in the assisted-living sector.

Evermind will offer what Gilbert called an "ambient assisted living system" that is, compared to more complex models — visualize multiple cameras in every room of your eldery widowed parent's home — more basic and inexpensive. But, Gilbert says, it will be every bit as effective, depending on various factors. An interesting video can be watched here.
