McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations has hired Colby Sledge as an account executive.

Sledge is well known in various local circles. He began his career at The Tennessean as a reporter and  was most recently the press secretary for the Tennessee Senate Democratic Caucus.

In addition, Sledge is co-chairman of nonprofit neighborhood organization South Nashville Action People, which garnered headlines in 2011 for its stance regarding concerns about racing at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

Sledge will graduate in December with a master’s degree in civic leadership from the Nelson Andrews Institute at Lipscomb University.
