Hendersonville planners have given Solomon Builders the green light to move forward with Phase II of New Island Centre, a 20,000-square-foot medical office and retail building on New Shackle Island Road across from Hendersonville Hospital. Solomon's first building at New Island Centre was completed in 2007 and is 95 percent leased. Gregg Turner, Solomon principal, said Phase II already has commitments for half its space.

“We are very pleased to have over half of the new space pre-leased, and have considerable interest in the remainder of the space. In fact, we very well could be close to 100 percent pre-leased before we break ground. We have been very pleased with the high level of interest this project has generated within the retail and medical communities.”
