Vanderbilt Legends Club, Redstone sign extension

Franklin-based Vanderbilt Legends Club has signed a three-year course management extension with Redstone Golf Management.

Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

Redstone Golf Management is a subsidiary of Houston-based Redstone Companies Hospitality.

Redstone originally partnered with Vanderbilt University in 2006 to manage the golf club and, during that time, helped to take the club fully private, renovate the clubhouse, redo the greens on one of the two 18-hole courses and host the Franklin American Mortgage Championship LPGA event.

"Redstone and Vanderbilt have a mutual commitment to quality, and Redstone has helped us successfully manage the club during the economic downturn, while maintaining a great property for the membership and entire university community to enjoy," Cliff Joyner, Vanderbilt University assistant vice chancellor for real estate operations, said in a release.

Vanderbilt Legends Club features two layouts co-designed by Hall of Fame golfer Tom Kite and architect Bob Cupp. The course opened in 1992.
