Fed researchers: State's population up 0.9% in 2012

The number crunchers at the Federal Reserve of St. Louis have updated their population estimates for various parts of the country. They are projecting that Tennessee's population now stands at 6.46 million, up 0.9 percent from 2011 and 3.3 percent from 2008. The 2012 growth number is ever so slightly larger than that of the Southeast as a whole.
