Publishing industry veteran Joey Amato plans to launch next March UNITE, a magazine for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Middle Tennessee. Amato runs OUTreach Public Relations and has been associate publisher at OMG Magazine and South Florida Gay News. He plans to expand UNITE's reach to Knoxville by the end of 2013.

"Over the past year, I have been approached by many members of the LGBT community asking me if and when I was going to publish a magazine." Amato said. "After attending a rally for equality in downtown Nashville, and hearing people speak so passionately about the fight for LGBT equality in Tennessee, I thought it was my duty as a Nashville citizen to publish UNITE."
